A top executive member of African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Jennifer Blanke has resigned.
Blanke said she resigned for purely family reasons
The Vice President for Agriculture, Human and Social Development at the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Jennifer Blanke has resigned from her position.
She resigned on Wednesday, according to a statement by the bank.
Revealing why she resigned, Blanke said she left 'purely for family reasons'.
Blanke’s resignation takes effect July 4, 2020.
Blanke also used the opportunity to thank the AfDB President, Akinwumi Adesina, for his “strong leadership, guidance and support.”
“I am leaving purely for family reasons to rejoin my family in Switzerland, after a very fulfilling time at the bank.
“I thank President Akinwumi Adesina for his strong leadership, guidance, and support which have undoubtedly motivated and helped my team and I to play a key role in the transformation of the bank,” part of the statement read.
Blanke joined the bank in 2017.
