APC's candidate in the ongoing Bayelsa governorship elections, Timpre Sylva, has been accredited for voting after trying for three times.
The card reader at first did not read the finger prints of Sylva's until after several attempts at the Dukaku centre polling station in Okpoama, Brass Local Government.
Shortly after voting Sylva who says he is optimistic of victory at the polls, however shared concerns over what he called the breakdown of law and order in some parts of the state.
According to him there has been several attacks by members and thugs loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party. He however called on the security agencies to step-up their game to ensure that the elections are not marred by violence.
Speaking after being accredited, he said;
"Some armed thugs have reportedly invaded the state and we are calling on security operatives to help us curtail this incident,” Sylva said after his accreditation a few minutes ago.
He also condemned INEC over the card readers, saying that they need to review the way it works so that it will disappoint in subsequent elections.
