#OccupyLekkiTollGate protesters
Modupe Odele, a Nigerian lawyer and one of the front-liners of the #EndSARS movement against police brutality has disclosed how #OccupyLekkiTollGate protesters were granted bail on 13th of February.
The #OccupyLekkiTollGate protest was staged against the decision of the Lagos Judicial Panel of Inquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS Related Abuses & Lekki Toll Gate Incident to have the Lekki tollgate reopened under the control of the Lekki Concession Company.
The protesters say the tollgate ought to remain under no control until justice is done regarding the lives allegedly lost when soldiers of the Nigerian Army opened fire during the #EndSARS protest on October 20, 2020.
Popular comedian, Mr Macaroni was arrested alongside other Occupy Lekki Toll Gate protesters who protested against the reopening of the Lekki plaza.
There have been numerous narratives as to how the protesters regained their freedom, and Modupe Odele took to Twitter to narrate how lawyers secured their release.

On Saturday volunteer lawyers worked from about 10am to 11pm to make sure 40 persons were released. The journey started from Adeniji & ended at a mobile court.
From Adeniji they moved to Ikeja and then to Panti and finally the arrested persons were arraigned. They were prepared the docs right there and represented the arrested person. After all that work, I find it odd that strange people are coming out to the woodwork to claim credit
My default is to mind my business, keep quiet and just do the work. But it seems silence doesn’t do us much good. Because..."
