The Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO)has appointed Prof Nnenna Oti has been elected as the Vice-Chancellor of the institution.

Prof. Oti who was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic before her new appointment, will be succeeding outgoing vice-chancellor, Prof. Francis Eze.

The Univeristy's new Vice Chancellor who is from Ebonyi state, emerged victorious with 75.5 points to beat six other candidates. Her closest rival was Prof. Ikechukwu Dozie who scored 69.7 points.
