Panic As Gunmen Kill Man, Kidnap Couple In Kogi

Some gunmen who are suspected to be kidnappers have shot dead a man identified as Samson Stephen.

They also abducted a couple, Mr and Mrs Duza Stephen, alongside their three-month-old baby at Igbogo community in Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi State.

A resident of Igbogo, said the incident happened on Tuesday around 11pm when gunmen in their large numbers invaded the community.

He said they surrounded the victims’ house, forced their way into it, killed a young man and abducted the couple and their three-month-old child.

Daily Trust gathered that the gunmen came with the intention to abduct the father of the young man killed, Stephen Dogara, who is a head teacher in Rubochi in Kuje Area Council of the FCT, but they did not meet him at home.

The spokesman of the Kogi State Police Command, DSP Williams Ovye Aya, asked our reporter to call back to enable him enquire about the incident from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Gegu-Beki, but was yet to revert as at the time of filing this report.
