Daily Post reports that the Kano State Road Traffic Authority, KAROTA says it has arrested a trailer loaded with 784 crates of alcohol.
State commander of KAROTA, Baffa Babba Danagundi, said his personnel on Friday succeeded in arresting the trailer while attempting to snuggle the alcohol to Kano from the southern parts of the country over the night.
While receiving the alcohol, Kano State Hizba commandant, Shiek Muhammad Haroon Ibn Sina commended the efforts of KAROTA.
He, however, promised to continue working with the KAROTA to sanitize the state against any form of social vices.
He noted that consumption of beers still remains prohibited in all parts of the state and the command will not hesitate to arrest anyone found violating the law.
Ibn Sina said the command will further its investigation after which the owners will be charge to court for prosecution.
