So many commercial motorcyclists on Wednesday protested the killing of one of their colleagues in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, according to Daily Post.
Daily Post had earlier reported that a commercial motorcyclist was on Wednesday beaten to death by some revenue collectors who were officials of Oyo State Park Management System (PMS).
It was gathered that the motorcyclist was allegedly hit with a charm by the revenue collectors after which he died.
The incident occurred at the Queen Cinema area of Ibadan.
It was gathered that the deceased, who was later identified as Damilare Ojo, had an encounter with the PMS officials over N100 daily ticket.
The argument later resulted in a fight between commercial motorcyclists and the PMS officials.
It took the intervention of police officers from Mokola Division to address the situation.
Some colleagues of the motorcyclist, however, took to the streets to kick against the killing of their colleague.
The protesting motorcyclists carried the remains of the deceased to the government secretariat at Agodi, occupying the main gate.
They obstructed vehicular movements for some hours on Wednesday evening.
This resulted in a traffic jam along the Bodija-Secretariat Road.
The majority of the civil servants who had closed for the day’s activities were stranded for several hours due to the protest, DAILY POST reports.
