Olusegun Obasanjo
Aduke Obasanjo, the wife of ex-Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo, has stated that it is a thing of honour for a woman's title to be changed to 'Mrs' while urging women to respect their husbands.
She spoke on Sunday at the 41st Adult Harvest Celebration of the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters, Ketu, Lagos State.
The event was themed, ‘Harvest of Abundant Blessings.’
Mrs Obasanjo, who was representing her husband at the occasion and advising women on how to keep their homes, warned women against involving third parties in their marriages.
While saying it is an honour for women to bear the prefix ‘Mrs,’ she urged women paying bills in their families not to disrespect their husbands.
She said, “Women who shoulder the responsibilities of their husbands are only lucky to be blessed by God; it’s never enough for them to disrespect their husbands.
“Instead of expecting a man to say sorry, women should learn how to lead their husbands to the bedroom and touch them romantically.
Whatever you do in the house will have an impact on the children and those children are the seed that will give us rest of mind. The rest of mind you give your husband is important.”
The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, who was represented by the Commissioner for Regional Integration, Mr Bola Ilori, urged Nigerians to pray for the country as the general elections approach.
He said, “If not for prayers, Nigeria would have been worse than its current state. The importance of prayers cannot be overemphasised.
“Peace is the reason we can gather today and prayer is important for peace. We must continue to pray for our country, especially as elections approach.”
Aregbesola thanked the Celestial Church of Christ for its support to the government, and prayed that the church would continue to grow.
