Mrs Hulaira Audu, a 38-year-old housewife, and four others have been kidnapped at Okatubo community in Kogi LGA of Kogi State.
A relative of one of the victims, Salihu said the incident happened on Sunday December 12 at about 6pm when the victims were returning from Kotonkarfe market in the area.
Salihu said the kidnaps victims were abducted by gunmen in a pickup van who wielded AK-47 rifles. The kidnappers are yet to make contact with the victims' families.
The victim's relative said; “In fact, it was just a few kilometres away from neighbouring Adingere village, when the kidnappers some of them wearing army uniform ambushed them and whisked the woman and four other traders, including the driver into the bush at gunpoint."
A vigilante member who confirmed the incident, told Daily Trust they've alerted some of their members in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State to mobilise into the forest to rescue the victims.
