The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has quizzed the former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh for 18 hours after still holding him in their custody for 48 hours now.

Former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh, has been subjected to intensive interrogation for 18 hours over his role in the $2.1 billion arms purchase scandal by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Badeh has been in EFCC custody for close to 48 hours since he reported at their office for questioning on how the total sum of $930.5m was used in the purchase of arms. It has been revealed that the commission has concluded plans to further detain the ex-military chief by obtaining a holding charge.
It has also been revealed that Badeh is also answering questions on the non-specification of procurement costs, absence of contract agreements, award of contracts beyond authorised thresholds, transfer of public funds for unidentified purposes and general non-adherence to provisions of the Public Procurement Act.
