Shock as Driver Commits Suicide Moments After Surviving Road Accident

A driver has given his family members and friends the shock of their lives after he sneaked out of an accident venue to commit suicide.

It was shock and anxiety on the faces of people after news had it that a driver of a car that was involved in a road accident where two people perished along Nyeri-Nyahururu road, Kenya committed suicide after leaving the scene of the accident.

According to News24, Peter Muchiri, 68, who is a former teacher and education officer in Kieni West, hanged himself shortly after the accident. He collided head-on with a motorcycle, killing the rider and his one passenger.

Information gathered from the Area OCPD John Kemboi, reveals that the police are already investigating the matter.

The traffic police towed the vehicle, a Toyota Platz and the motorcycle to Mweiga Police Station. Police said the deceased left the scene of accident secretly only to be found dead moments later.
