Gunmen Kill Commercial Tricyclist, Passerby While Enforcing Sit-at-Home Order In Imo

A commercial tricyclist and a passer-by have been killed in Akwakuma, Owerri North Local Council of Imo State by sit-at-home enforcers.
 
Gunmen suspected to be enforcers of the week-long sit-at-home order directed by a faction of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) killed their victims yesterday.
 
Also, at the weekend, the yet-to-be identified hoodlums set ablaze part of a local market in Amaraku, also burning vehicles in Isiala Mbano Local Council of the state. They were said to have unleashed terror on those who failed to sit at home by force.

According to sources, the hoodlums, yesterday, stormed the ever -busy Akwakuma Junction in a Sienna vehicle, shooting sporadically into the air, causing several persons who had gone to eke a living to scamper for safety. They quickly shot the tricyclist on the chest, leading to his death. Another passerby was hit by the bullet, and gave up the ghost.
 
Witnesses said the gunmen looked deadly when they carried out the attacks.
 
As at the time of filing this report, the State Police Spokesperson, Henry Okoye, was yet to respond to the incident, despite efforts made to reach him
