Damini Ogulu, the Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, famously known as Burna Boy, has explained that he is not bothered by being labeled a 'new cat' in the music industry.
He said he is not bothered by the misconception that he is new in the music industry despite releasing his debut album a decade ago.
Recall that Davido last month sparked a debate after classing Burna Boy under “new cats” alongside Rema, Asake, Fireboy DML etc.
Many berated the DMW head honcho for underrating Burna Boy.
However, in a recent chat with Apple Music’s Ebro, Burna Boy said it is a good thing some people think he is new in the industry, stressing that it makes him feel younger and want to do more.
He said, “It is a good thing that people think my movement is new. I love that. Because it keeps me young. It means like, I can do so much more, you know. It stretches my life span.
“I’m living longer than I thought I would than I even planned to, you know.”

The ‘Last Last’ crooner said he has always known that he would be great.
Burna Boy added that he does all kinds of music because he is “trying to make the world understand that music is bigger than a genre. I feel blessed that I can do different genres. It would have been a waste if I had restricted myself to a genre.”
