Several political appointees and aides of Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde have resigned in recent weeks as the 2027 election approaches.
A report published online says the exits are linked to shifting political alliances, internal disputes and preparations for the vote.
Chief of Staff Segun Ogunwuyi and Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Matters Funmi Arulogun are among those who have stepped down.
Rumours suggest some are moving towards the APC or distancing themselves from the governor's camp.
Arulogun cited personal and political reasons.
The resignations come after Makinde dissolved the state executive council and ended the appointments of several political office holders to restructure his government.
A source said Makinde's presidential ambitions, including a bid for the APC ticket, have caused friction within the PDP and his wider coalition in Oyo.
The source said some aides were unhappy that he chose Adekanmbi as a candidate instead of Taofeek Arapaja, which his advisers had recommended.
Another complaint was that a Muslim candidate should have been picked, since Makinde is a Christian.
The source added that Makinde's second term ends in seven months, and that some aides are already holding meetings with the APC.
