This Is Total Madness – Peter Okoye Slams ECOWAS For Deploying On Standby Military Against Niger Junta

 

Popular Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye aka Mr P has expressed disappointment with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) over its resolution to put troops on standby to restore constitutional order in the Niger Republic.

 

The resolution was reached at the extraordinary meeting of ECOWAS in Abuja on Thursday.

 

Recall that President of ECOWAS, Omar Alieu Touray, had said the regional bloc had Touray stated that the regional bloc maintained a stand against the military government in Niger and directed immediate enforcement and monitoring of sanctions on the military junta.

 

He added that ECOWAS underscores its continued commitment to the restoration of constitutional order through peaceful means.

 

Reacting via his Twitter page, Mr P wrote, “Africa joins the west to fight Africa. Total madness.”
