Nigerian actress, Biodun Stephen has revealed her battle with depression over inability to secure acting roles.
She made the revelation in a recent chat with Chude Jideonwo, the media personality.
Biodun confessed that she left acting because she felt it was not for her.
The filmmaker said after going for multiple auditions, she felt “depressed and really frustrated” because the outcomes were not positive.
“I cannot remember the date, but I knew it was in October, I broke down, I could not watch TV, because I will go to auditions with someone, and I would look at them and wonder what is wrong with me, why am I not getting picked and I was questioning everything,” she said.
“None of it was you cannot act, so it got really depressing, really frustrating and I thought maybe, this acting thing was not for me and I put it aside and went to work.
“I said to God, you gave me this talent, take it away, in accepting, I had to tell God, take this feeling away. Do not let me think about film. Do not let me think about acting, because this particular one is not working.”
The filmmaker recently spoke about the challenges she faced in her early years of marriage.
