IPOB accused the military of attacking Igbos while claiming to be after terrorists.

IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, made the remark while accusing the Nigerian military of burning down houses in Uli, Anambra State, under the guise of looking for criminals.

He recalled that on Sunday, January 28 2024, the Nigerian military invaded the peaceful community of Uli in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State and burnt down many homes and other properties of Igbo indigenes.

“The global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra ably led by the great prophet and liberator Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu condemns the terrorist attacks by the Nigeria military on the peaceful community of Uli in Ihiala, Anambra State.

“The Nigerian military has burnt down many houses in Uli in Anambra State in the disguise of looking for criminals, and media did not report it.

“The public should recall that last week, we raised alarm over the burning and destruction of Ndigbo’s homes and properties at Umulolo in Okigwe LGA in Imo State by the Nigerian military.

“Do the Nigerian military burn down the houses of innocent people in other parts of Nigeria? Do they destroy properties in Northern Nigeria when going after the terrorists and bandits ravaging the North?

“The southeastern region of Nigeria has suffered numerous terrorist attacks resulting in mass murders, destruction of properties, and forceful disappearances of many youths from Nigeria Security Forces and their foot soldiers, the Fulani terrorist herdsmen. These attacks have worsened with the APC governments under Mohammed Buhari and now under Bola Tinubu,” the statement read.
