Authorities of the Bayelsa State Police Command said it has deployed adequate Police personnel and security assets, across nooks and crannies of the state to prevent any form of election violence before, during and after the April 6 local government election in the state.
The State’s Commissioner, CP Alonyenu Francis Idu, in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Musa Mohammed, assured the people of the state of its commitment to ensuring social harmony and security stability during the polls.
The statement reads, “The Bayelsa State Police Command wishes to assure the well-meaning people of Bayelsa State of our commitment to ensuring social harmony and security stability during the upcoming LGA and Counsellor election scheduled to hold on Saturday 6th April 2024 in eight (8) LGAs and wards of Bayelsa State.
”The Bayelsa State Police Command under the watch of CP Alonyenu Francis Idu, has strategically deployed adequate Police
personnel and security assets, across nooks and crannies in the state to prevent any form of election violence before, during, and after the election.
”The CP urges all stakeholders, including political parties, candidates, and voters to conduct themselves peacefully and abide by the laws governing the process. The State Command will be collaborating closely with other security agencies, electoral officials, and relevant stakeholders to ensure a smooth and credible election.
