A man simply identified as Adamu has lost his two hands after they were tied by his elder brother who accused him of stealing his phone.
Adamu is from Sambi Daji village of Tumu District in Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.
Zagazola Makama, a Lake Chad Basin counterterrorism and insurgency expert, narrated the tragic event in a post on his X handle on Tuesday.
Makama explained that elder brother, whose name was not stated, caught Adamu and tied his hands with a rope, intending to keep him captive until he revealed where he hid the phone.
“Unfortunately, the rope was too tight, cutting off circulation to his hands”, Makama said, adding that by the time the rope was loosed, his hands had become severely damaged, and doctors were forced to amputate them to save his life.
