Professor Wole Soyinka, the Nigerian Nobel Laureate, has expressed interest in applying for the restoration of his permanent residency in the United States.
Soyinka made the remark in reaction to the conviction of former US President, Donald Trump.
In 2016, Soyinka destroyed his US green card after Trump won the presidency.
On Thursday, Trump was convicted on each of the 34 charges of falsifying business records to hide a payment meant to silence porn star Stormy Daniels.
However, Soyinka said he may apply for his green card, considering the initial attention his earlier action got.
