On Monday, Benue Community Volunteer Guards (BCVG) apprehended three suspected kidnappers in Otukpo, the administrative center of Otukpo Local Government Area in Benue State.
Daily Post reports that the suspected kidnappers were about to leave for Makurdi, the state capital, when they ran out of luck.
According to sources, the community volunteer guards, after getting a tip-off from the motor park where the three men were trying to board a vehicle to Makurdi, immediately swooped on them and caught them with large sums of money suspected to be ransom received from their victims.
A BCVG source who disclosed this to DAILY POST said that the arrested kidnappers were taken to the Otukpo police station, where they confessed to the crime and were taken into custody on Monday.
Benue State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Catherine Anene, confirmed the arrest of the kidnappers and admonished the public to always provide useful information to the police.
