One of the four individuals who were rescued from a collapsed building in Kubwa, Abuja on Saturday has died in the hospital.
This was even as another victim was struggling to raise money for surgery around her pelvis.
City & Crime reports that the collapsed building, on Sultan Ibrahim Dasuki Road, was built as a hotel before being converted to a clinic and later residential with 45 self-contained rooms.
It was learnt that most of the tenants escaped before the incident took place around 6am following an alarm about some cracks in the building.
Meanwhile, our reporter who returned to the site yesterday was told by the displaced tenants camping in a nearby hotel that they were not allowed to retrieve their belongings that included credentials before the remaining parts of the building were pulled down.
They also accused their landlord of owing them rent balance, as well as avoiding them since the incident took place, urging authorities to intervene.
