Mohammed Mohammed, the newly appointed Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, has officially taken over from his predecessor, Ahmed Abubakar.
President Bola Tinubu appointed Mohammed as the new helmsman of the agency following Abubakar’s resignation.
The transition was formalised on Tuesday, August 27, when Abubakar handed over the leadership baton to Mohammed in a ceremony captured on video by the Nigerian Television Authority.
Abubakar submitted his resignation letter to Tinubu during a meeting they had at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Saturday.
Tinubu, had on Monday, approved the appointment of new Directors-General of the NIA and the Department of State Services.
