Yemi Davids, Chairman Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter has lamented that President Bola Tinubu's policies are bringing hardship and suffering on the people.

According to him, these policies are now acts of wickedness.

Davids said this while fielding questions on Arise Television’s Morning Show programme on Wednesday.

He stressed that the confluence of policies introduced by the government beyond the fuel subsidy removal had mounted a lot of pressure on churches and their capacity to cater for the welfare of their members.

Davids said: “It’s a lot, the confluence of policies from the government. We have been trying to sort out the electricity tariff, you know the food prices are up. The pressure on us as churches are a lot. Our welfare system is stretched, unfortunately we don’t get talk about it every time. We spend a lot virtually every week feeding people.

“We would like the government to have empathy.

“It looks like wickedness, I don’t know, everything coming together at the same time. It looks like somebody is being wicked on the people. It looks like that. We all feel the pain, the leadership of the church and members.

“We want to appeal that there should be human face. There should be that consideration for people beyond church members.

“As a leader, I think if you want to do anything that would affect the people there should be adequate and prompt communication. We don’t seem to have that. And when you’re communicating, there should be a sort of empathy, we don’t seem to have that.

“There’s a kind of disconnection with the people. We appeal that those things should be looked into.”
