I Can't Call My Friend's Boyfriend Uncle, Even If He's Older By Far - Women Speak

Several women have shared that when their friend begins dating an older man, they automatically view him as a peer, making it difficult for them to refer to him as "uncle."

The conversation started after an X user said it is "local" to call your friend's boyfriend "Uncle" before his name just because the friend asked you to.

Another X user replied: "I can't do it oh. Even if he's older by far. He is now our mate abeg."

Another woman wrote: "I'll rather stop being friends with such person cos wtf?"

The initial poster added that calling your friend's boyfriend "uncle" is "oju aiye (eye service)" because he obviously has exes younger than his current girlfriend and the friends expected to call him uncle.
