EFCC Arrests 35 For Suspected Internet Fraud In Edo (Photos)

Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 35 suspected internet fraudsters at different locations across Benin City, the capital of Edo State.

According to a post on the commission's X handle, the arrests followed credible intelligence linking the suspects to alleged internet related crimes.

Items recovered during the operation include nine luxury vehicles, several smartphones, and laptops believed to have been used in the commission of the crimes.

The EFCC's post reads: "Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday May 20,  2025 arrested 35 suspected internet fraudsters at different locations within Benin City.

"The suspects were arrested based on credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet- related fraud.

"Items recovered from them include nine exotic cars, smartphones and laptops

"The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded."
