A Nigerian cleric, Prophet Bamidele has defended his state governor, Monday Okpebholo over his recent comments to ex-presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Recall that Okpebholo has been receiving heat from Nigerians over his declaration that Obi must inform him before he visits the state. Many interpreted his comments as a threat to Obi while others have argued that the governor was only watching out for Obi and his security anytime he visits the state.

In a video that is now making the rounds on social media, Bamidele said anyone insulting the Governor is ‘’useless'', especially indigenes of his state, According to him, Governor Okpebholo was right in the statement he made.

‘’If you are an Edo social media influencer or human rights activist and you are among those insulting the governor of Edo state, Mr Monday Okpebholo over his statement on Peter Obi, you are a useless person. I owe no one an apology.

He went on to tackle activist, Aisha Yesufu, an indigene of the state, for also joining others to condemn the governor.
