This is as he attacked those supporting Obi and condemning the governor's speech as extreme.
A Nigerian cleric, Prophet Bamidele has defended his state governor, Monday Okpebholo over his recent comments to ex-presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
This is as he attacked those supporting Obi and condemning the governor's speech as extreme.
Recall that Okpebholo has been receiving heat from Nigerians over his declaration that Obi must inform him before he visits the state. Many interpreted his comments as a threat to Obi while others have argued that the governor was only watching out for Obi and his security anytime he visits the state.
In a video that is now making the rounds on social media, Bamidele said anyone insulting the Governor is ‘’useless'', especially indigenes of his state, According to him, Governor Okpebholo was right in the statement he made.
‘’If you are an Edo social media influencer or human rights activist and you are among those insulting the governor of Edo state, Mr Monday Okpebholo over his statement on Peter Obi, you are a useless person. I owe no one an apology.
I want to ask you a question. You are the head of the family. Don't you have the right to tell your father or mother that people you come to my house, call me so I can prepare myself for you so I can receive you well. Is it bad?
The governor said if Peter Obi is to enter Edo state, he should call him on the phone. He is the number one citizen of Edo state. ‘’Call me before you come so I can make adequate arrangement of your coming'. Don't just walk into someone's state because you are what?
I have told you before. 2027, Peter Obi cannot rule Nigeria. If he like make e go anywhere. If Peter Obi will rule Nigeria, not 2027. If he likes he should gather all the youths in the whole world. That Aso Rock, now, Peter Obi cannot see it''
He went on to tackle activist, Aisha Yesufu, an indigene of the state, for also joining others to condemn the governor.
