APC Chieftain Sani Shinkafi Survives Ass@ssination Attempt, Accuses Authorities Of Going After Him

Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, a former Zamfara governorship candidate and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), narrowly escaped an ass@ssination attempt in Abuja on Friday.

Shinkafi revealed the incident occurred shortly after Juma’at prayers on August 15.

He said masked heavily armed gunmen dressed in black blocked his vehicle and attacked him before they fled the scene in a black, unmarked Prado Jeep.

In a statement through the Patriots for the Advancement of Peace and Social Development, Shinkafi called the attack an “unprovoked attempt” on his life. He further allude it’s related to his vocal critique of the insecurity in Zamfara State and other national issues.

“I will not be deterred by intimidation or harassment in the quest for national security, peace, unity, and social development.” Shinkafi emphasized. 
 
He also stated that prior to this attack there were also multiple threat calls received in his Abuja residence that he also believes were in connection to this attempt. He called on the Inspector General of Police and the DSS to investigate and punish the perpetrators and their sponsors.
