APC Now Normalizing Insecurity, Hardship - Labour Party Laments

Posted by Thandiubani on Tue 26th Aug, 2025 - tori.ng

Deputy National Chairman of the Labour Party, Ayo Olorunfemi made the claim while speaking in an interview with TVC News.

The Labour Party has lashed out at the ruling All Progressives Congress, accusing the party and President Bola Tinubu of normalizing insecurity and hardship since coming to power in 2015.

Deputy National Chairman of the Labour Party, Ayo Olorunfemi made the claim while speaking in an interview with TVC News.

Olorunfemi linked the rise in kidnappings, banditry, and insurgency to the APC’s leadership, insisting that the country’s security challenges became worse under its watch.

“What we are witnessing today is not accidental. It started with APC and their approach to governance. The kidnapping and everything is not hidden from anybody. Somebody once said if he didn’t win, monkey and baboon will soak in blood and after that, people started dying, bombs started going off.”

He was referring to a controversial remark made by the late President Muhammadu Buhari before the 2015 elections, which, according to Olorunfemi, fueled political violence and deepened insecurity.

The Labour Party chieftain argued that the APC failed to provide strong leadership and workable policies to tackle insecurity, leaving citizens vulnerable to kidnappers and armed groups.

“APC should be held responsible for the state of insecurity in the country. They have made Nigerians live with fear as if it is normal,” he added.

Olorunfemi maintained that the Labour Party remains a credible alternative, saying it is committed to rebuilding trust and ensuring safety for Nigerians.
