Olubadan: Sultan Of Sokoto, Ex-Governors, Others Storm Ibadan For Ladoja’s Coronation (Photos)

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, alongside former governors, serving senators, House of Representatives members, traditional rulers, and other distinguished personalities, gathered in Ibadan to witness the coronation of the Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Recall that a former governor of Oyo State, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, was officially been crowned the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland today.

He is now set to receive staff of office and instrument of office as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The event took place at the ancient Mapo Hall in Ibadan.

Some of the notable personalities at the event apart from the Sultan are former governors of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun, and their counterpart from Kano, Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso.

Traditional rulers from major cities, towns and villages in Yorubaland and other parts of the country were not left out.

Prominent among them are the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade; Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi; Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Afolabi Olaoye; and Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Lawal.

Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Adebayo Lawal, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (Oyo South) Yunus Akintunde (Oyo Central), and House of Representatives members including Akin Alabi and Olamiju Alao-Akala are also at the event.

Indigenes of Ibadan under the platform of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII, led by their President- General, Barrister Sulaimon Ajewole are also at the event.

The wives of the Olubadan, family members and well wishers are also witnessing the coronation.
