Ganduje Gives Condition For Kwankwaso's Return to APC

Speaking to BBC Hausa, Ganduje explained that APC operates strictly by its constitution and would not give special treatment to anyone returning. He said politicians who left must also face the political consequences of their earlier decisions.

 

Reports recently suggested that Kwankwaso had reached out to APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, about a possible defection. But Kwankwaso dismissed the claims, describing them as baseless.

 

Reacting to the speculation, Ganduje said any attempt by Kwankwaso to rejoin the APC would be like “licking his vomit,” meaning he would have to admit past mistakes before seeking a fresh start in the party.

 

On the state of APC in Kano, Ganduje confirmed that the party had resolved its internal divisions. He also revealed that the stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja reviewed APC’s performance in the 2023 elections and applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership.

 

Ganduje further dismissed talk of a rift with Tinubu, saying their relationship remains strong. He added that the Kano APC is fully behind the president and determined to reclaim the state in the 2027 elections.
