Drama unfolded on Saturday when Ngerian actiist, Precious Oruche, widely known as Mama Pee, accused the factional national chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure, of orchestrating an attack on her by alleged thugs at the Benin Airport in Edo State.
Earlier, the National Publicity Secretary of Abure’s faction, Obiora Ifoh, had alleged that Mama Pee accosted the chairman while boarding a Max Air flight from Abuja to Benin.
According to Ifoh, the confrontation began at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, where Oruche allegedly confronted Abure in the boarding queue.
Ifoh claimed, “She continued the assault throughout the flight despite interventions by flight attendants to calm her down.”
But in a live Instagram video, Mama Pee countered the narrative, insisting that Abure sent thugs after her because she openly accused him of destroying the Labour Party and the hopes of Nigerians.
“When I told him that he sold the Labour Party, one of the thugs he sent threatened that they would shoot me,” she alleged.
The activist further claimed that one of the men hit her in the eye, questioning why a party chairman would resort to thuggery.
Oruche vowed not to be intimidated, saying she would continue to confront “dirty politicians” in Nigeria.
She alleged that Abure collected money from some individuals during the Edo governorship election, and after enjoying the money, he refused to step aside as the chairman of the party.
According to her, LP was not known until Peter Obi joined in 2023, and Abure is the reason why Obi dumped the party ahead of 2027.
As of press time, Naija News‘ efforts to obtain further comments from Oruche were unsuccessful, as her line was unreachable.
