Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has convened an emergency meeting with the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) at Ahmadu Bello House, Ilorin, in response to Tuesday’s violent attack on the CAC church in Eruku.
Addressing the Christian leaders, the Governor expressed deep sympathy over the tragedy and confirmed that the Nigerian military has now taken full control of the affected community.
He assured CAN that the government stands firmly with them, adding that both state and federal authorities are working closely to restore lasting peace.
AbdulRazaq also reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies with logistics and intelligence resources to forestall future incidents.
He called for calm and urged residents of Eruku and neighbouring communities to cooperate with security personnel currently deployed to maintain order.
