Popular Nigerian preacher, Apostle Arome Osayi has shared an emotional account of his brother’s kidnapping and eventual death, explaining how the heartbreaking ordeal challenged his faith but never shattered his resolve.
During a recent sermon, Apostle Osayi recounted the ordeal, describing how terrorists abducted his brother and demanded a ransom running into millions of naira.
Despite the family meeting their captors’ demands, they were later summoned to retrieve his brother’s body from the forest after he had d!ied in captivity.
Reflecting on the emotional toll, Osayi acknowledged the pain of the experience but emphasized that his faith provided the strength to remain composed.
“My brother was kidnapped, and after paying a huge ransom, we were called to collect his body in the forest. Nothing can prepare you for such heartbreak,” he said.
He explained that his knowledge of Scripture helped him maintain emotional balance.
“I did not shed a tear, not because I was not attached to him, but because I understand the Word. It teaches you to avoid excessive grief or overwhelming despair. You learn to remain steady in the midst of trials,” he said.
Apostle Osayi added that his decision to remain spiritually resilient was intentional.
“I refused to let this tragedy give the enemy an advantage. Your life follows your most dominant thoughts, and I chose to keep my focus on faith and perseverance.”
So sad to learn that Apostle Arome has actually lost a sibling to terrorism and banditry in Nigeria, even despite paying for ransom!

Deeply painful!
There is nothing wrong with shedding tears though. It is well. pic.twitter.com/ZezrOGhRBm
