The nomination of Christopher Musa, a former Chief of Defence Staff, as Minister of Defence, has been confirmed by the Senate.
The Senate confirmed Musa as Defence Minister following a five-hour grilling by lawmakers on Wednesday.
Tori News reports that his came after some senators opposed a proposal to excuse the former Chief of Defence Staff and ministerial nominee from questioning.
Trouble began when the Senator representing Niger East, Sani Musa, suggested that the nominee be allowed to “take a bow and go”.
The Senate had commenced the screening of General Musa as the new Minister of Defence on Wednesday.
