Christy Akingboye, the widow of the late Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in Ondo State, Bamidele Akingboye, has called for the urgent release of her husband’s autopsy report, condemning the conflicting narratives surrounding his de@th as wicked, malicious, and prejudiced.
Speaking to journalists in Lagos, the bereaved widow expressed concern that neither she nor her children had been allowed to view the autopsy findings, despite a blogger publicly claiming to have accessed and read the report online, allegedly stating that it confirmed murder.
She questioned how a private individual could claim access to a document that the police had not formally presented to the family.
According to her, the inconsistencies from the authorities have further heightened the family’s suspicion.
“It is disturbing that during our meeting with the Commissioner of Police last month, he claimed the report was already with him but refused to show it to us.
“Instead, he told us he was withdrawing from the case and transferring it back to Panti, where we had previously encountered bias and hostility, before sending it to the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecution,” she said.
She added that what happened next was even more troubling.
“The same CP went on Channels TV that very day to declare that the autopsy confirmed murder. Meanwhile, we, the immediate family, have not seen a single page. No one has shown us anything,” she disclosed.
Mrs Akingboye maintained that an autopsy report alone cannot establish a case of murder unless such a conclusion is proven in court.
