Mr Macaroni Explains Why He Does Not Want to Enter Nigerian Politics

Comedian and social commentator Mr Macaroni has explained that he has no interest in entering politics because he believes Nigeria's political space corrupts even the most respected people.

Speaking in a viral video, Mr Macaroni discussed the challenges of speaking up for Nigerians and the criticism that comes with it.

He said people who advocate for citizens often end up being attacked by the very people they are trying to help.

He noted that despite his efforts to speak out, he gets painted as a troublemaker while the same Nigerians he defends turn their backs on him.

Watching how Nigeria's political space operates has made him reluctant to pursue a political career.

He recalled how men he once admired and looked up to went into politics and destroyed the legacies they had built.

He said he is simply not thrilled by what he sees in Nigeria's political space.

Mr Macaroni also criticised Nigerians for quickly forgetting about economic problems after initially complaining loudly.

He pointed to the reaction to fuel prices as an example, saying people make noise for a day or two and then move on.

He also questioned why Nigerians take pride in their ability to survive difficult conditions, saying this is not something worth bragging about.

He suggested that if Nigerians can survive in Nigeria, they can survive anywhere, but this should not be celebrated as an achievement.
