Katsina Governor Plans Car Loans for Magistrates

Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda will roll out a car loan programme for magistrates as part of a push to enhance their welfare and boost judicial efficiency across the state.

The scheme will form part of the 2027 budget alongside plans for improved housing for judges and efforts to ease courtroom congestion.

The broader agenda targets strengthening the justice sector by creating better working conditions that allow magistrates to carry out their duties with greater effectiveness.

The state's proposed 2027 budget, titled "Building Your Future IV," totals ₦828.64 billion with ₦9.19 billion directed to Law and Justice.

Nearly 77 percent of the overall budget goes toward capital projects.

The administration has singled out justice and public service delivery as priority areas requiring sustained investment as it works to upgrade infrastructure and services across Katsina.

More specifics on the magistrates' car loan scheme including who qualifies, how financing works and repayment arrangements will become clear as the 2027 budget moves through the state House of Assembly for review.
