Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has described the promotion and decoration of 102 officers of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) as a clear sign of the agency's growing importance and quality service delivery.

Speaking through the Commissioner for Establishment and Training, Olabode Ladipo, at a ceremony held at the State Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, Makinde praised the officers for earning their elevations.

He noted that the promotion fully cements OYRTMA's integration into the core state civil service structure, ensuring the officers now hold recognized grade levels ranging from Level 8 up to Level 13.

In his address, OYRTMA Executive Chairman Major Adekoya Adesagba (Retd) thanked Governor Makinde for approving the promotions.

The promotions cut across four categories, with 25 officers moving from Level 12 to 13, 11 advancing from Level 10 to 12, 16 stepping up from Level 9 to 10, and 50 promoted from Level 8 to 9.
Adesagba pointed out key achievements under his leadership since late 2023.

These include recruiting 500 new personnel, rolling out QR code safety jackets for commercial riders, expanding operational bases, setting up a mobile traffic court, and establishing OYRTMA as the top-performing agency in Oyo State in 2025.

He charged the newly decorated officers to step up their efforts to reduce road crashes and keep traffic flowing freely across the state.
