Bandits Attack Sokoto Community, Kill 2 and Steal Livestock

Bandits attacked Dukura community in Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Monday morning.

They killed two people and stole cows, camels, sheep and motorcycles from residents.

The attackers blocked the road connecting Dukura and other communities to Tambuwal market.

Fear has spread to nearby areas including Dalijan, Zugu, Indire, Mazoji, Tungar Kabawa, Runtuwa, Jabga and Sabon Garin Zugu.

Residents are worried about the unpredictable security situation.

The Sokoto State Police Command has not yet issued an official statement confirming the attack or the number of casualties.

Earlier this month, bandits demanded ₦40 million from Kebbe town.

They threatened to kill residents and burn the community if the money wasn't paid.

They initially gave five days, then extended it to seven days after the community pleaded for more time.

The bandits sent a phone through a local farmer to the District Head with their demand.

The phone was handed over to the police.

The bandits warned the police officer to keep the phone charged and reachable, threatening to attack if their calls weren't answered.

Residents are anxious about the deadline.
