Ogun Police Begin Check of All SPY Officers

The police in Ogun State have started checking and recording all supernumerary police officers working in the state.

Supernumerary officers, also called SPY, are extra police helpers who work with the main police force.

The checking exercise started on September 23rd and will continue until October 7th, 2026.

The police announced this on Wednesday through their public relations officer.

All organizations that have supernumerary police officers working for them must make sure their officers go to the Police Public Relations Department at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, to take part in this exercise.

The officers must bring certain documents and items with them.

They need to bring their training certificates and copies of them.

They also need their warrant cards or a letter saying they work for the police.

They must bring recent passport photographs while wearing their police uniform.

They also need to bring any other important documents that prove they are supernumerary officers.

The police said this exercise is to make sure all the supernumerary police officers working in Ogun State are properly recorded and that the police are keeping proper watch over them.

The exercise is meant to strengthen how the police keep track of and manage these extra officers.
