Legends: 2Face, Asa, D'Banj and P-Square Nominated For 2015 MAMA "Evolution" Award

You can call them the four pillars of Nigerian music at the moment and you won't be far from the truth as their impact on the local and global stage cannot be overstated.

Who else are we talking about if not 2face Idibia, Asa, Psquare and D'banj, who have all been nominated in the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) "Evolution" category.

They were nominated alongside Angola's Anselmo Ralph, South African duo of Black Coffee and HHP, Uganda's Chameleone, Democratic Republic of Congo's Fally Ipupa and Ghana's Samini.

The "MAMA Evolution" award, according to MTV Base Channel Director, Tim Horwood, "honours established artistes who have made an indelible mark on African and global music culture, taken African music to new territories around the world, pushed the boundaries of creativity, and shaped the soundscape of contemporary Africa".

Fan votes and MTV Base will decide the winner of this category.

To vote for the iconic Nigerians nominated in this category, fans are encouraged to go on Twitter or Instagram using the hash tags - #Evolution2Face, #EvolutionPSquare, #EvolutionAsa or #EvolutionDBanj.

The award will be presented at the 2015 MAMAs in South Africa on Saturday, 18 July.
