Radu Mut, a 29-year-old care assistant who r*ped a pensioner in her care home as she tried to take a shower has been jailed.
According to Metro UK, Radu Mut targeted the woman in her late 70s at a care home in Suffolk, England.
He admitted the offence at Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday and was sentenced to seven years and six months in prison, Suffolk Police said.
He was also given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and ordered to sign on the sexual offenders register indefinitely.
A Suffolk Police spokesman said Mut, of Norwich Road, Ipswich, began to make advances to the woman as he was helping her to take a shower.
She asked him not to make the advances, and he then forced himself on the woman and r*ped her.
Detective Inspector Simon Bridgland said: ‘This is a particularly horrific incident on a vulnerable woman for whom Radu Mut should have been providing care.
‘He violated his position of authority and trust in the most horrific way and the effect this abuse has had on his victim, who has been extremely brave in reporting the offences and seeing this case through to its conclusion, should not be underestimated.
‘I would also like to thank the care staff for their help in bringing this man to justice.’
