Shocker: Robots Will Outnumber Human Beings And Rise To 9.4 Billion In 30 Years - Expert Makes New Claim

There will be more robots than humans in just 30 years, according to a leading expert.

 

Artificial intelligence is increasingly expected to become a major presence in the workplace as robots eclipse human skills.

 

But this has sparked widespread panic it will throw society into a jobless hell, because machines are cheaper and can work longer without getting tired.

 

And now Brit novelist Dr Ian Pearson has predicted the number of robots on Earth will rise to 9.4 billion by 2048.

 

The futurologist said robots will also become “emotionally intelligent” by that time.

 

He said his predictions are based on the assumption the number of robots will grow by a fifth each year.

 

If the take-up is quicker, robots could overtake humans by as early as 2033.

 

And it seems that many of us are already nervous about a robot takeover.

 

A study of 2,000 Brits found that 71% of us fear the rise of artificially intelligent robots in society and nearly six in 10believe robots are a threat to the future of humanity.

 

Over half of those surveyed also said they believe scientists won’t be able to be control the rise of artificially intelligent robots.

 

Dr Pearson said: “Today the global robot population is probably around 57 million.

 

The study also revealed that 43% of us are afraid that robots will take control of society, while 37% fear robot could become more intelligent than humans.

 

Furthermore, 25% of respondents said they fear they might not be able to tell robots and humans apart, and 16% are afraid of the possibility that humans could have relationships with robots.
