The world can finally take a breather after Kensington Palace announced on Monday that the royal baby, who was born on Saturday to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - Prince William and Kate Middleton - has been named Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.

Its official! The new royal princess, born to Kate Middleton and Prince William, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at the weekend, has been named.

The name of the fourth in line to the throne was announced Monday afternoon in two tweets by Kensington Palace

According to the tweets, "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

"The baby will be known as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge".

It was learnt that the little girl, who was born Saturday morning, was named in honour of her Grandfather, her Grandmother (Princess Diana of Wales) and her Great-Grandmother (The Queen of England).
