#ToriNewsExclusive: FESTAC Town Under Siege as Soldiers Surround Armed Oil Thieves in Lagos (Photos)

FESTAC area of Lagos state is fast becoming a hub for armed robbers and other criminals who gallantly attack the area through coordinated robbery operations.

 
A  group of yet to be identified oil thieves fully armed have stormed the 7th Avenue of FESTAC town with military men on ground to effect a counter-operation, according to Tori News.

13th of October was a dark day in FESTAC town as Access bank Plc at 4th Avenue in the area was robbed with millions of Naira carted away during which two lives were lost.
 
 
Today, 17th of October marked another movie-like scene involving assailants reportedly numbering up to 50 who attacked the 7th Avenue area of FESTAC Town to vandalise major Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), oil pipelines.
 
The criminals stormed the area as early as 5am through the canals using speed boats, according to a military source who spoke to Tori News reporters under the condition of anonymity.

Tori news reporters visited the scene which is currently heavily guarded my military men as they have blocked all routes through which the gunmen will possibly exploit for their escape..
 

There have been conflicting reports on the success of the oil bunkering operation as some top military officers on ground in the know refused to speak to Tori news correspondents.

A commercial motorcycle rider who claims to live around the neighbourhood claims a soldier was shot dead and the body of the victim was swiftly carried away.

Commercial activities in the area remains stalled as some individuals living and working around the crime scene as well as blocked routes have been deterred from entering the area.
