A Nigerian scholar who allegedly solved a 156-year-old mathematical problem, has cried out over attempts to soil his legacy.
Dr Opeyemi Enoch
According to Daily Independent, the scholar described as most ridiculous allegation by some the Western scholars that his findings must have borne-out of plagiarism.
Enock who spoke in Ado Ekiti on Monday, Enoch said the allegation leveled against him by a PhD student in Yale University, USA that he plagiarized his work, was misdirected venom and part of the conspiracy of some racist-academics in the West, who believe something good cannot come from Africa.
Enoch accused scholars from the western world of promoting racial discrimination in the academic world, urging Africa to create its own Laurel should he be denied of being conferred with the Nobel Laureate title in Mathematics.
He regretted that no African man has ever won Laurel title in Mathematics, Engineering and Medicine, hinging this on alleged conspiracy of the West.
It will be recalled that Enoch had last week made a presentation in Vienna, Austria on the Hypothesis propounded by a German Mathematician, Riemann Zeta in 1859, thereby resolving the issue that had become a mathematical puzzle for ages .
Enoch, who graduated from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, added that aside working on this Riemann Zeta function that part of his mathematical inventions also include: Using Mathematical function to detect someone with crime intention, invention of I-cell key holder, which earned him best inventor of the year 2012 at the Ekiti State University.
Others include, a model that would empower aircraft to detonate a bomb fired at it, generation of power from thunder and oceanic bodies , movable silos that could conserve agricultural products for five years and Mathematical invention for the protection of oil pipelines.
