Incredible! Woman Gives Birth While in Coma (Photos)

 

The woman who was giving birth for the first time was given just a 10% survival after suffering a massive brain haemorrhage. However she amazed doctors by pulling through.

Colvina Jolin was 23 weeks pregnant when she was rushed to hospital and told without an emergency operation she would die.

Her husband Matt feared Colvina and their unborn baby would not even survive surgery.

He said: "The head surgeon came out and said you got her here very quickly, we've done the operation very quickly, but I've never seen anyone survive this. It was the worst moment of my life."

 

But against all the odds Colvina lived and went on to deliver baby Maia seven weeks later by caesarean section while still in a coma.

However, the family's battle was not over yet. Colvina told ITV Meridian : "We both died and the doctors had to resuscitate us twice."

Despite being in a coma, the 28-year-old from Horndean in Hampshire said as soon as she came round she knew Maia was alive.

"I've no idea why but I always knew I had a baby. Holding on to her for the first time was overwhelming. I just feel so lucky to have Maia every day. It's a miracle," she said.
