A young boy nearly took his own life and caused his parents untold sorrow after he shot himself with a homemade gun he assembled.
A young boy was left in excruciating pain after he shot himself with the homemade gun he made while following instructions on a YouTube video.
According to police in Buckeye, Arizona, the home made gun pierced the 13-year-old's ribs and nearly left him dead. He was rushed to the Phoenix Children's Hospital where he underwent surgery.
Police confirmed that the boy learned how to make the shotgun by watching a video on YouTube.
Deputy Joaquin Enriquez of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, released a photo that shows the homemade gun and said that the boy admitted to watching the video on YouTube, which explained how to build it.
He is now in stable condition. The teen's parents were home at the time of the incident. Police said that they are still trying to figure out where the teen got the materials for the weapon.
