According to a report by SaharaReporters, three prominent persons have died in Yobe State of suspected Coronavirus symptoms within the last 24 hours.
They are former House of Reps member representing Nguru/Machina/Karasuwa/Yusufari Federal Constituency, Alhaji Baba Bukar Machina, Muazu Buraji, Director of Yobe State Ministry of Health, and Alhaji Bana Kura, a prominent civil servant in Geidam.
Machina died at an isolation facility in Damaturu, the state capital, and is set to be buried on Thursday.
SaharaReporters on Wednesday exclusively reported that no less that 155 people had died over the span of six days after showing symptoms of Coronavirus.
When contacted by SaharaRporters over the issue, Mamman Mohammed, Director of Press and Media Affairs in the state, said he was not aware of the situation but that the Commissioner for Health in Yobe was about to address journalists on the latest developments in the state.
